Once Again, The Telegram
is pleased to bring its readers a fun contest for all ages!
In conjunction with the NCAA March Madness Tournament, The Telegram
will publish a bracket to be completed by its readers for a
chance to win prize money totaling $600. The bracket and entry
form will appear in the Wednesday, March 14th issue of
For those of you who prefer
to enter online, log on to www.thetelegramnews.com and
click on the Basketball Mania logo on the homepage. You will
be linked directly to the online contest. The online contest
will be available shortly after the televised selection process
on Sunday evening March 11th.
If entering with a paper
bracket, entries may be brought to The Telegram office at 920
Veterans Drive in Jackson by Noon
on Thursday, March 15, 2018.
In addition, drop-off
boxes with a bright orange Basketball Mania logo will be located
at the following businesses: Jackson:
McDonalds, The Telegram/The Radio Business Office. McArthur:
McDonalds. Oak Hill: McDonalds. Wellston: McDonalds.
All drop-off box locations
will be picked up next Thursday morning, as the
entry deadline is Noon on Thursday, March 15th when
the first game is played. Players can track their progress in
the Wednesday, March 21st and the Wednesday, March 28th issues
of The Telegram as the competition advances.

in the April 4th edition of The Telegram and online at

will be accepted. Employees and independent contractors of Jackson
County Broadcasting, Inc. -- The Telegram, The Radio, Zip Printing
-- and their immediate families are not eligible.
Points will be earned
for each correct game winner. First round games are worth one
(1) point each; second round games are worth two (2) points
each; third round games are worth four (4) points each; regional
finals are worth eight (8) points each; national semi finals
are worth sixteen (16) points each; national finals are worth
thirty-two (32) points each.

Prizes are as follows:
First place $300, Second place $200, Third place $100
In the event of a tie,
prize (s) will be divided equally.
- Example #1:
Three winners tie for first place. Prize money for first,
second, and third place will be combined ($600) and divided
equally among the three winners ($200 each).
- Example #2:
Two winners tie for first place and one has second place.
Prize money for first and second place will be combined ($500)
and divided equally between the two, first place winners ($250
each). The third place prize money ($100) will be award to
the second place winner.
- Example #3: One
winner has first place and two winners tie for second place.
First place prize money ($300) will be awarded to the winner
and prize money for second and third place will be combined
($300) and divided equally between the two winners tied for
second place ($150 each).
- Example #4:
One winner has first place, one winner has second place and
two winners tie for third place. First place prize money ($300)
will be awarded to the first place winner and second place
prize money ($200) will be awarded to the second place winner.
Third place prize money ($100) will be divided equally between
the two winners tied for third place ($50 each).
